Join Hazel (from Dance Movers) and Faye (from Bickerton Bootscooters) for a fun evening of beginner line dancing.

One to kick off the run-up to Christmas. Two top-drawer acts performing all your favourite tunes to get you up dancing and to get the Christmas festivities off to a flier!
Boots & Beats (Sat 7th Nov): it's really a night for grown-ups, and some of
the songs have lyrics that aren't suitable for young children — we'd suggest 12 and over,
with an adult.
Live Music Saturdays: children of any age are welcome with an adult.
It's a village hall night, not a nightclub.
What about the bar?
Full bar all night, draught beer included. We run Challenge 25,
so if you're lucky enough to look under 25, bring some ID.
Is there food?
Boots & Beats (Sat 7th Nov): there's a break for food after the dance
tuition, with pizza available from the van outside — and you can pre-order.
Live Music Saturdays: snacks for sale, or bring your own food or a
takeaway — just please clear up after yourself.
What time does it all happen?
Boots & Beats (Sat 7th Nov): doors at
6.30pm. Around 45–50 minutes of
beginner-friendly tuition from 7pm, a break
for food, then the music carries on until 10pm.
It's not three hours of solid line dancing!
Live Music Saturdays: doors at 5, music from 6, and we're done by 10.

Book online and your ticket arrives by email. Show it on the door, or just give
your name — we'll have you on the list either way. Lost it?

Where do I park?
The Community Centre has its own car park on the High Street. It's a village
centre, so if it's full there's plenty of on-street parking nearby.
This whole thing runs on neighbours who fancy mucking in. There are three ways to join in,
and every one of them is more fun than it sounds.

How it started
A bit of background…
Tarporley Community Centre is busy all week — clubs, classes,
groups, children's parties. Come Saturday night, though, the lights were usually off.
It seemed a shame for a hall that size to sit empty at exactly the time people want
somewhere to go.
So a few of us set about changing that. Live Music Saturdays is the result: proper
regional acts, a real bar, and everything left over going straight back into the building.
I recently joined the Tarporley Community Centre Committee. Though the centre was
used widely throughout the week there wasn't much happening on weekend nights — often
it was empty. Ken was keen to get some live music going. So, we got our heads together
and got moving on it.
I've got quite a lot of the equipment from my events company. There's a dedicated
group of volunteers. We're hopeful of generating a few quid for the improvement of the
centre through these events, and have a good time doing it too!

put something back into the village — and to be seen doing it by a hall full of
neighbours.
Tarporley Community Centre sits on the High Street, and describes
itself rather nicely as being “in the heart of the community, for the
community”. It's a large hall with a stage, a kitchen and its own car park —
which is exactly why it works so well for a gig.
It's busy most of the week. There are classes and clubs covering everything from dance
and football to zumba, fitness, singing groups and amateur dramatics. There are film nights
run with the local Rotary Club, the village market on the first Saturday of the month,
performances by Tarporley Amateur Dramatics, and the annual Beer Festival.
It's a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, registered number 1194629,
run by a volunteer committee. There's no owner taking a cut — every penny these music
nights raise goes back into the building, which is the whole point of them.
You can hire it yourself for parties, celebrations, meetings and
events, with the room set up however you need it.
